Checking train availability and fare...faster option

Though http://irctc.co.in/ is the official website for railway bookings, I presume most of you accept that it does not provide ease of access or speed to check availability of seats or train details.

Recently, one of my colleague showed me this website hosted by Rediff.

It fetches the details very fast and the design is intuitive.  I like the way they put the fare along with the departure and arrival details in the table.  Clicking the availability takes you to http://www.indianrail.gov.in

However, to book the tickets, you are provided with two options.  (1) IRCTC (2) list of online travel agents.
